76 of 905 W. South St. Galesburg, formerly of Abingdon died at 12:45 pm Thursday, March 15, 2007. He was born on October 18, 1930 in Fairview to John Clark and Blanche Elizabeth Trowbridge Wilson. He married Joan Sampson on September 17, 1950 in the London Mills United Methodist Church. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Cathy (and Chris) Lutrell of Surprise, AZ and Mary Wilson of Mesa, AZ; two sons Michael (and Kathleen) Wilson of South Elgin, IL and David (and Laura) Wilson of Hallsville, MO; four grandchildren, Aaron Lutrell of Dallas, TX, Ryan Lutrell of Phoenix, AZ, Michelle Wilson of Knoxville, IL and Ashley Wilson of Peoria, IL; one great granddaughter, Kierra Wilson of Peoria, IL; a brother, Bill (and Eloise) Wilson of Dunferline, IL; a sister, Carol Markley of Canton, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother John Wilson and infant twin sisters. E.C. grew up in Fairview and graduated from Fairview High School, where he was a starter of the Basketball Team. He worked at Maytag Company for over 34 years and was a member of IAM & AW Lodge #2063. He had lived in Galesburg since 1980 and prior to that had lived in Abingdon for 22 years. He was a Navy veteran. E.C. was a diehard Cub fan. He was also a former part owner of harness race horses and enjoyed the races at the Quad Cities, Chicago and St. Louis. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially time spent with his wife traveling and his morning coffee at Ayerco Convenience Center on N. Henderson St. in Galesburg. Cremation was accorded. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Mayo Clinic, 200 First St S.W., Rochester, MN 55905.
