Edith I. Edie Johnson

68 of 401 E. Martin St., died at 11:25 pm Friday, March 24, 2006 at the Care Center of Abingdon. She was born November 10, 1937 in Abingdon to William and Helen Lewis Gray. She married Gene M. Johnson on September 15, 1957 at the Abingdon Christian Church. He survives Also surviving are one son, Mike (and Barb) Johnson of Abingdon; one daughter, Cathy (and Lloyd) Chester of Rantoul, IL; one sister, Betty (and Lloyd) Stahl of Dunlap; 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. She had lived in Abingdon all her life. She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1955. She was a homemaker and had also worked at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville as an aide. Services will be at 11 am Monday, March 27, 2006 at the Abingdon Cemetery. Eleanor Landon will officiate. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family.
