82 of Abingdon passed away at 2:50 am Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Saturday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel with a Rosary Service at 4:00 pm. Private graveside service will be held for the immediate family. Rev. David Kurt will officiate. Eileen Wheeler was born on December 17, 1922 in West Point, Iowa, the daughter of Gerald and Anna Fullenkamp Wheeler. Following graduation from high school, she attended Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa and later was a teacher in Iowa. On August 5, 1947 she married John M. Mills. They farmed in Warren County. Eileen was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church. She is survived by two sons, Jerry (and wife Margot) Mills of Mesa, AZ and John Mills of Avon; two daughters, Mary Ann (and husband Daryl) Haley of Tipton, Iowa and Nancy (and husband Mark) Carpenter of Maple Grove, MN; a brother, Gerald H. Wheeler of West Point, Iowa; a sister, Joan Menke of West Point, IA; 3 grandchildren, Jack Carpenter, Melinda Haley, Melissa (and husband Tom) Reed and many cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, a sister and two brothers.
