78 of 300 N. Jefferson St. Apt. 502 died at 7:00 pm Sunday, February 6, 2005 at the Care Center of Abingdon. He was born on January 28, 1927 in Abingdon to Frances Quinn. He married M. Jane Burke Pierce on June 14, 2002 in Abingdon. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Doug (and Joan) Quinn of Lewisberry, PA; one daughter, Cindy Long of Mechanicsburg, PA; two granddaughters, Darian B. Long and Madison G. Long; two stepsons, Chuck (and Sandy) Pierce of Kahoka, MO and Bob (and Dorothy) Pierce of Abingdon; one stepdaughter, Donna (and Jim) Cecil of Maquon; several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, one brother and one sister. He grew up in Abingdon and later served in the Army during WW II. After serving in the Army he lived in Pennsylvania for several years where he worked as a truck driver for North Penn Transfer until his retirement. He later drove a school bus for ten years in New Cumberland, PA. He was a life member of both the American Legion and the Fox-Eichelberger VFW Post 7415 in New Cumberland, PA. Graveside service will be at 10:00 am Wednesday at the Abingdon Cemetery. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Military Rites will also be conducted by Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381. Visitation will be from 9:00 é
