Elsie Quinn Obituary

89, formerly of 714 S. East St., Abingdon, IL died at 9:05 PM Saturday, June 4, 2005 in the Care Center of Abingdon, Abingdon, IL. She was born December 31, 1915 in Princeville, IL the daughter of Charles and Blanche Hayes Burns. She married Jesse L. Quinn on November 4, 1935 in Abingdon, IL. He preceded her in death on September 2, 1980. She is survived by five sons, Ronald (wife Karen) Quinn of Abingdon, IL, Rodger (wife Dixie) Quinn of Abingdon, IL, Jake (wife Barb) Quinn of Galesburg, IL, Jack (wife Donna) Quinn of Monmouth, IL, and Tom (wife Donna) Quinn of Abingdon, IL, three sisters, Lea Delle Ely of Toulon, IL, Marion Kock of Lacon, IL, and Ethel (husband Cecil) Dallinger of Princeville, IL, eighteen grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren, and twenty great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Stella Louise Quinn, three brothers, one granddaughter, and one grandson. She moved to Abingdon in 1935. She attended schools in Princeville, IL. She worked in housekeeping for the Care Center of Abingdon for 10 years. She also did the housekeeping for Dr. Packard's office for several years. She was a caregiver for several people throughout her life. She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church. She was a former member of the Presbyterian Church in Princeville, IL. Graveside services are scheduled for 11 AM Tuesday in Abingdon Cemetery. The Rev. Ray McLaren will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials can be made to the Activity Fund at the Care Center of Abingdon or to the Abingdon Christian Church. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
