Elvira Loretta Paith

88 of Abingdon, died at 7:30 am Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the Care Center of Abingdon. She was born on October 11, 1919 in Galesburg, IL, a daughter of William W. and Anna (Clouse) Peterson. Elvira is survived by a son, William J. (and Antoinette) Paith of Honolulu, Hawaii; three grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Eugene Paith and a brother, Lawrence Peterson. She grew up in Galesburg and had lived in Abingdon since 1980. She worked at Sears and Roebuck in Galesburg for 18 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and the Catholic Foresters. Rosary service will be at 10:15 am Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abingdon followed by the Mass of Christian Burial. Father William Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg, IL. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 10:00 am Wednesday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
