Evelyn I. Kilpatrick

78, of Peoria and formerly of Abingdon died at 4:30 am Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at her home in Peoria. She was born on June 3, 1929 in Emmett County, Iowa near Estherville to George and Edna (Dorsey) Stammer. She married Lawrence Kilpatrick on October 31, 1952 in Peoria. He preceded her on death in January 29, 1982. Evelyn is survived by her two daughters, Kathy (and Steve) Wagher of Abingdon and Vickie Nelson of Peoria, with whom she lived with the past two years; four grandsons, Nathan Wagher of Quincy, Ivan Wagher of Abingdon, Kyle Nelson of Peoria and Patrick Nelson of Clemson, SC; a brother, Harold (and Gloria) Stammer of Lakefield, MN; a sister, Irene (and Loyal) Schoonover of Canton; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death also by her parents, five brothers, Jim, Everett, Clifford, Ralph and Lloyd and two sisters, Marion Anderson and Mildred Rieter. She had lived in Abingdon from 1952 until 2005. She worked at Maytag Corp. in Galesburg for 28 years and was a member of IAM Union Local #2063. She was a Gold Star Member and a Member of the Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381 Auxiliary in Abingdon. She was a member of the Loon Lake Baptist Church of Jackson County, MN. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Level II Nursery at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in care of Mary Daniels, Assist Nursing Care Manager, Mother Baby Unit, 530 NE Glen Oak, Peoria, IL 61637.
