Evelyn Milward

, 95, a resident of the Care Center of Abingdon, died at 6:48 am Sunday, February 16, 2003 at the Care Center. She was born January 25, 1908 in Warren County to Glen and Mary Rhykerd McClure. She married Walter D. Milward on June 25, 1938 in Cameron, Il. He preceded her in death on December 21, 1991. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Surviving are one brother, Frank (Frances ) McClure of Galesburg; two sisters, Joan Josefson of RR Galesburg and Isabel Wier of Denver, CO.; and several nieces and nephews. She had lived in the Cameron and Abingdon areas all her life. She graduated from Galesburg High School and later from Western Illinois University. She was a school teacher in rural schools near Cameron and later at Weston School in Galesburg retiring in 1938. She was a member of Abingdon Christian Church. Services will be at 11 am Thursday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon with Rev. Raymond McLaren officiating. Burial will be in the Silent Home Cemetery near Cameron. Friends may call one hour before the service on Thursday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the Abingdon Christian Church.
