Frances E. Foster

89, a resident of the Avon Nursing Home and formerly of Abingdon, died at 11:25 am Sunday August 10, 2008 at the Avon Nursing Home. Frances was born on February 6, 1919 in Ferris, IL to Jesse J. and Florence M. Riel Wisehart. She married Cloyce G. Foster in 1942 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death in 1952. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers including her twin brother Franklin Wisehart and two sisters. She is survived by a sister, Mary Ruth (and Eugene) Thorell of Carthage, IL and nieces and nephews and their families. Frances also had an "other sister", Wilma Landon of Abingdon. Frances graduated from the Ferris High School and had lived in Abingdon from 1935 until moving to the nursing home in 2001. She had worked at the Blue Bell Manufacturing Company in Abingdon, First Galesburg National Bank and Abingdon Bank & Trust retiring in January of 1984. She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church. Graveside service will be at 11:30 am Thursday, August 14, 2008 at the Abingdon Cemetery. Rev. Jerald Hill will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Thursday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Abingdon Christian Church 409 S. Main St., Abingdon, IL 61410.
