Francis "Fran" J. Cameron

78 of 110 W. Snyder St. died at 3:05 am Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at her home. She was born on July 24, 1930 in Mountain Park, Oklahoma to Homer and Carrie Locke Tucker. She married Chester "Chet" Cameron on February 15, 1956 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Fran is survived by her husband Chet; a son, Roger Battershell in Alabama; a daughter Tisha (and Mark) Junk of St. Joseph, Michigan; two grandchildren, Cameron and Cailynn Junk; a brother, Ronnie (and Diane) Tucker in Alabama; two sisters, Faye (and Alvin) Prigmore and Sandra Moore both of Abilene, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. Fran had lived in Abingdon since 1979 and prior to that had lived in Tucson, Arizona. She had worked as a seamstress at Shanks Clothing Store in Abingdon and was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist Faith. Her hobbies included playing card games and bowling. Funeral service will held at 11:00 am Monday, February 2, 2009 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday, February 1, 2009 at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the Abingdon First Responders.
