Frederick Cramer Obituary

69, of Galesburg and formerly of Abingdon, died at 11:07 am Monday, March 23, 2009 at his home. He was born on March 9, 1940 in Abingdon to Wayne and Margaret (Simkins) Cramer. He married Sally Marks on June 24, 1962 at the Abingdon United Methodist Church. He later married Janet Ogden. Ted is survived by his son, Christopher, (and Stephanie) Cramer of Coal Valley, his granddaughters Samantha and Rebecca, one sister Linda (and John) Hansen of San Joaquin, CA, a niece Julie Sporhase of Colorado and a nephew Todd Lincoln of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Donna Lincoln. Ted grew up in Abingdon and graduated from Abingdon High School in 1958. He later graduated from the Mid-State College of Commerce in Peoria. He was drafted into the US Army and served from 1963 until 1965. Ted then worked at the former Gale Products in Galesburg as a cost accountant. He later sold real estate for 15 years and had last worked in financial and insurance sales for AXA Equitable retiring in 2007. He was a member of the Abingdon United Methodist Church. He was a past member of the Abingdon Kiwanis Club, was a member of the American Legion. His hobbies included the New Horizon Senior Group in Galesburg and working part-time. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the Abingdon United Methodist Church. Rev. Paul Dinges will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Thursday at the church. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Celiac Disease Foundation or the Abingdon United Methodist Church.
