78, a resident of Prairieview Care Center in Lewistown and formerly of RR Abingdon, died at 11:14 am Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at the Prairieview Care Center. He was born on January 2, 1929 in Table Grove to Keith and Gladys Gossage Brown. He married Mildred Kruzan on July 6, 1951 in Lewistown. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Keith (and Nina) Brown of RR St. Augustine and Kevin (and Darlene) Brown of Abingdon; four grandchildren, Bryan, Brisk, Shane and Zackery; one great grandson, Dane; three brothers, Keith (and Shirley) Brown, Jr. of Hermon, Carl (and Pat) Brown of Hermon, Ivan (and Nancy) Brown of Smithfield; two sisters, Melba Johns of Avon and Dorla (and Harold) Kruzan of Bryant. George's dog, Rowdy also survives. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Howard and Max. George served in the Army during the Korean War and had obtained the rank of Corporal. He served as a Military Police Officer. He had lived in the Abingdon area most of his adult life. He worked at the Abingdon Pottery for 46 years retiring in 1995. Cremation was accorded. Private family services will be held at a later date. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
