George T. Castle

, 65, 101 Brookview Drive, died at Noon, Friday, January 17, 2003 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. He was born January 28, 1937 in Abingdon to George C. and Jennie Mae Perry Castle. He married Mary P. Kendrick on Feb. 1, 1958 in Abingdon. She survives. Also surviving are one son, George Gregory (Lisa) Castle of Flower Mound, TX.; two daughters, Susan (Dion) Goedken of Santee, CA. and Jody (Jonathan Leahy) Castle of Sebastopol, CA.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mary (Charles) Josephson of San Diego, CA. and Shirley Eugene) Sanders of Canton, Il. He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Margaret Castle, his parents and one sister, Myrtle Lucas. He had lived in Abingdon most of his life and graduated from Abingdon High School in 1955. He was a farmer and later owned and operated Abingdon Farm Equipment for 20 years retiring in 1999. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Tuesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon with Rev. Raymond McLaren and Eleanor Landon officiating. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 - 8 pm Monday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice.
