Gloria J. Ratajczak

67 of 300 N. Jefferson St. Apt. 601 died at 3:35 am Saturday, June 23, 2007 in the emergency room of OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. She was born on August 16, 1939 in Bushnell the daughter of Andrew and Bertha Faler Day. She married Paul Fecht. He preceded her in death in 1983. She later married Walter Ratajczak in 1986. He preceded her in death in 2002. Surviving are one son, Joseph M. Fecht of Milan, IL, two grandchildren, Anthony and Breanna Fecht, her mother, Bertha Burgess of Abingdon, a brother, James (and Norma) Day of Galesburg, two sisters, Alberta "Maggie" (and Lee) Hanson of Knoxville and Vonneda (and Earl Kennon) Johnson of Abingdon, and a step brother, Samuel Burgess of Abingdon. She was also preceded in death by her father, her stepfather, Ronald Burgess and a sister, Roberta "Bobbie" Lankford. She attended Avon Schools and graduated from United Township High School in East Moline. She owned and operated restaurants in Plano, Aurora, Avon, and Abingdon. She had lived in Aurora for many years and in Abingdon since 1986. She attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Abingdon. Graveside service will be 11 AM Wednesday at the Abingdon Cemetery. Rev. Warren Cummins will officiate. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Church of God of Prophecy.
