Harold W. Schisler

84, of Sun City, AZ formerly of Abingdon died at 12:07 AM, Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at Boswell Hospital, Sun City, AZ. He was born September 26, 1919 near Abingdon, Knox County, Illinois the son of John and Minnie Dawdy Schisler. He married Maxine Stearns on June 29, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, H. Edmund (and Lynn) Schisler of Columbus, Indiana, Ronald W. (and Rosemary)Schisler of Santee, California, and one daughter, Darlene (and Carl) Henderson of Glenburn, Maine, and one sister, Irene (and Bob)Morris of Berwick, Illinois, eight Grandchildren, and ten Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers. He attended Abingdon High School and was a machinist at the former Outboard Marine Corporation in Galesburg, Illinois 28 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Sun City, Arizona. Funeral service will be at 1:30 pm Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon. Rev. Raymond McLaren will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the service on Tuesday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
