Hazel Irene Farr

97 of Hermon, Il. died at 7:11 pm Thursday, May 8, 2003 at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville. She was born August 4, 1905 in Hermon to Charles and Florence Thurman Bowden. She married Donald Wayne Farr on June 1934 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1972. Surviving are one daughter, Marilyn (and Robert) Smith of Peoria, Il.; three grandchildren and three great grandsons. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Lucille Sampson. She was a homemaker and had lived in Hermon all her life. She was a member of Abingdon United Methodist Church. She was a charter member of Home Bureau, member of Abingdon Garden Club and served as an Election Judge in Hermon for many years. She also served on the Hermon Cemtery Board and kept the cemetery records for many years. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Monday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon with Eleanor Landon officiciating. Burial will be in the Hermon Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 é
