92, of 520 S. Main St., Abingdon, IL died at 2:10 PM Friday July 15, 2005 in the Care Center of Abingdon. She was born November 25, 1912 in Abingdon, IL the daughter of Archie and Barbara Burgess Trout. She married John M. Stockham June 22, 1929 in Abingdon, IL. He preceded her in death on December 23, 1968. Survivors include one son, Richard L. (wife Dorothy) Stockham of Prairie City, IL, one daughter, B. Joanne (husband Ron) Batson of Abingdon, IL, one sister, Ruth Fahlund of Galesburg, IL, 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Johnson, one brother, one grandson and one great grandson. She worked as a clerk for the Parrish & Verner Hardware Store in Abingdon. She worked in the office and also as a seamstress for the Blue Bell Manufacturing Company. She worked as the bookkeeper for the Abingdon Rock Company. She was the manager of the kitchen and dining room for the Junction in St. Augustine, IL. She retired from the Galesburg Mental Health Center as a seamstress. She lived in Abingdon her entire life. She was a charter member of the Business & Professional Women's Club in Abingdon. She was a member of the Grandmother's Club in Abingdon IL. She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 Monday July 18, 2005 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. The Rev. Raymond McLaren will officiate. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday at the chapel. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Abingdon Christian Church or to the Shriner's Crippled Children.
