James C. Creighton, Sr.

74, Galesburg, died at 3:25 p.m. Friday (June 8, 2007) at home. He was born May 18, 1933, in Kirksville, Mo., the son of Conrad and Marie Creighton. He married Carole Allen on June 5, 1954. Surviving are a daughter, Lynn Marie Hite, Glasford; four sons, James Conrad Creighton Jr. of California, Richard C. Creighton and Michael Creighton, both of Kewanee, and Lawrence Creighton, Las Vegas, Nev.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He graduated from Monmouth High School. He served in the Army. He worked at Butler Manufacturing for 22 years, retiring in 1998. He was a professional billiards player. Private graveside service will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
