James W. Dunn

88 of Dalhart, TX formerly of Abingdon died at 5:00 pm Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Triumph Hospital in Amarillo, TX. He was born on May 31, 1918 in Monmouth to Sherman and Jennie Townsend Dunn. He married R. Marilyn Ironside on April 5, 1952 in Chokio, MN. She preceded him in death on November 25, 1989. He was also preceded in death by a his parents, a son William Dunn, three sisters, Dorothy Conlee, Bernice Gustufson and Ruby Holmes, a brother, Robert Dunn. Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca A. (and Walter) Quint of Dalhart, TX, Cynthia S. (and Dr. John) Hubbard of Kansas City, MO; two sons, James M. (and Carolyn) Dunn of Weatherford, OK and Paul A. Dunn of Dalhart, TX; eight grandchildren, Jessilin Quint, Jordan Quint, Johnathan Quint and Jennifer Quint, Brent McDaniel, Nikki McDaniel, Kelvin Dunn and Kenna Dunn; great granddaughter, Adalia McDaniel. He graduated from Monmouth School District in 1932. He had lived in Knoxville from 1953 until moving to Abingdon in 1960, where he resided until 1986. He had since lived in Dalhart, TX. He retired from farming and had farmed near Knoxville, Abingdon, Roseville and Dalhart, TX. He enjoyed fishing, especially the Canada trips and spending time with his family. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday at the chapel.
