Janeann Moody, 86, of Wataga, Illinois died 7:52 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2022 peacefully at her home.
Janeann was the only daughter of Wallace Chadwick and Georgia June (Kincaid) Behringer, born August 27, 1935 in Galesburg, IL. She graduated from University of Illinois in 1957 and successfully completed a dietetic internship at University Hospital, Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was a 66-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, being a Worthy Matron in 1968, 1987, and 1991. She was also President of the Wataga Parent Teachers Association and Galesburg Council of PTAs being honored with Life membership in PTA.
Janeann is survived by 2 daughters: Steffanie Rench Brown of Wataga, and Tepe Rench Hamilton of McKinney, Texas, 5 grandchildren: Dawnelle (Ben) Glass, Woodhull, Illinois, Tyler (Ashley) Brown, Altona, Illinois, Kyle (Dani) Brown, Chandler, Arizona, Michael Hamilton, Charleston, South Carolina, and Sarah Hamilton, McKinney, Texas, and 5 great grandchildren: Dallin, Calvin, and Gideon Glass, and Sophia and Henry Brown. Because of her love and dedication to farming and animals, she ran her 320-acre sesquicentennial family farm for the last 57 years. Church, family, friends, and poetry were very important to her with many poems published in compilations. She wishes God’s Blessings to all.
Visitation will be 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. Facial coverings due to COVID-19 will be appreciated. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2022 at Wataga Congregational Church, 105 S. Sparta St. Pastor Jim Epperson will officiate. Private graveside service for the immediate family will be in Wataga Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Wataga Congregational Church, Wataga Seniors, or American Cancer Society.
