John Daniel JD Casey

59 of 302 N. Austin Ave., died at 8:35 am Friday, August 18, 2006 at home. He was born on August 24, 1946 in De Funiak Springs, FL to Tice and Lillie Goodwin Casey. He married Janet Anderson Heady on August 26, 2005 in Galesburg. She survives. Also surviving are one son, John E. (and Catherine) Casey of Roy, Washington; two daughters, Dawn Spencer of Galesburg and Star Hahn of Abingdon; three grandchildren, Noah Casey, Hannah Howerter and McKenzie Hahn; three brothers, Jerald (and Tilly) Casey of Crestview, FL, Don (and Ora) Casey of Enterprise, AL and his twin brother James (and Carol) Casey of De Funiak Springs, FL; two sisters, Syble (and Dave) Graham of De Funiak Springs, FL and Montaree Geohagen of Jacksonville, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He grew up in Florida where he graduated from Walton High School in De Funiak Springs. He later moved to Puyallup, WA. He had lived in Abingdon since 1984. He currently worked as an electronic technician for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. He served in the Air Force from 1965 until 1969 during the Vietnam War as an aircraft Maintenance specialist and later served in the Army from 1975 until 1978, where he was stationed in Korea as an aircraft mechanic. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Presentation of the flag will be at 8:00 pm by Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381. Cremation will follow the visitation. Memorials may be made to the Galesburg Rescue Mission or OSF Hospice.
