83, 404 Craver St., Abingdon, IL, died at 4:50 AM Tuesday June 7, 2005 in the Care Center of Abingdon. He was born July 9, 1921 near Gilson, IL, the son of Lester Elie and Leona Edna Purchase Morrison. He married Dona Marie Spurgeon in Abingdon, IL on June 16, 1946. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, Dan (wife Jennie) Morrison of Hanna City, IL, Rod Morrison of Mesa, AZ, and Bruce (wife Tammy) Morrison of Knoxville, IL, one sister, Bonnie (husband Pat) McElhiney of Sparland, IL, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Connie in 1961, three brothers, Kenneth, Dale, and Bob Morrison, and one half brother, Francis Morrison. He worked as a manager of the Krogers in Abingdon. He was a supervisor for Gale Products Outboard Marine Corporation for 39 years, while working part-time for Russ's Grocery Store. He retired January 18, 1980. He lived in Rio, Maquon, Berwick, but most of his life in Abingdon. He was a member of the Abingdon Boat Club. He was a member of the Abingdon Police Auxiliary. He worked 17 years with the Abingdon Scenic Drive. He was a member of the Gale Product Supervisor's Club. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 AM Friday, June 10, 2005 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, June 9, 2005 at the chapel. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association or to the Knox County Relay for Life.
