Joseph Carlson

51, RR Berwick died at 8:30 am Thursday, January 20, 2005 in Warren County. He was born on January 12, 1954 in Galesburg to Arthur and Roberta Shaw Carlson. He married Joni Jackson in 1973 in Knoxville. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Justin of St. Charles, MO and Jeremy at home; one daughter, Julia Carlson at home; one brother, Max (and Lidia) in Texas and one stepbrother, Bob Shaw. He was preceded in death by his parents. He graduated from ROVA Schools in 1972 and earned his Masters degree in special education from Western Illinois University. He currently was working on his Masters degree in administration at the university. He had lived near Berwick the past seven years and prior to that in Abingdon. He worked as a behavior management consultant for many of the western Illinois school districts. He was of the Methodist Faith. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 pm Monday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon with a prayer service at 8:00 pm conducted by Rev. Paul Dinges. Cremation will be accorded following the service. Memorials may be made to an education fund for his children at Tompkins State Bank in Abingdon
