June Hatch Obituary

87 of Abingdon died at 8:00 am Monday, March 28, 2005 at Seminary Manor Nursing Home in Galesburg. She was born June 27, 1917 in Bader, IL to Fred E. and Pearl Marie Garrett McLaren. She married Carl E. Hatch on July 24, 1935 in Bushnell. He preceded her in death May 30, 1988. Surviving are one son, Robert E. (and June) Hatch of Galesburg three daughters, Beverly (and Russell) Onion, Marie Hatch and Carolyn (and Richard) Hughes all of Abingdon; two sisters, Roberta Courter of Galesburg and Twila Anderson of Murray, Kentucky; 8 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 11great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one great-great grandchild, and three brothers, Pete, Gene & Bill McLaren. She graduated from Prairie City High School in 1935 and had lived in Avon, Prairie City and Bushnell prior to moving to Abingdon in 1942. She worked at the former Blue Bell Co., Stewart Grocery and the Abingdon Pottery and last worked for Admirals in Galesburg retiring in 1962. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Abingdon and a member of the Royal Neighbors of America. She was an avid golfer and bowler and loved to go fishing. Graveside service will be at 11:00 am Thursday at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Seminary Manor Alzheimer's Unit.
