June M. Kilpatrick

81 of 682 Home Blvd., Galesburg and formerly of Abingdon died at 9:08 am Thursday, January 31, 2008 at heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg. She was born on June 18, 1926 in Barry, IL to Clarence and Glenna Ray Belts Ratliff. She married Robert Kilpatrick in October of 1945 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on November 13, 1983. June is survived by a son, Gary Kilpatrick of Abingdon; two granddaughters whom she help raise, Rachel Helms of Abingdon and Katherine Okrzesik of Galesburg; three great grandchildren, Elizabeth Nelson, Matthew Helms and Nathan Okrzesik; a sister, Betty (and Clyde) Boyd of Galesburg. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Dorothy Kilpatrick, Irene Akers and Annabelle Whitney. She grew up near Barry, IL and her family moved to Abingdon in 1942, where she resided until moving to Galesburg in 1996. She worked at the Blue Bell Manufacturing in Abingdon and later helped other Abingdon families with house duties. She attended the First Church of God in Galesburg. Graveside service will be at 11:00 am Monday, February 4, 2008 at the Abingdon Cemetery. Rev. Paul Bickel of the First Church of God will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm Sunday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Memorials may be made to the family.
