61 of 103 McClure St. died at 3:40 pm Thursday, November 26, 2009 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on January 20, 1948 in Galesburg, the son of Richard and Merle (Sipes) Sundquist. Kenny married Carolee (Penington) Stegall on January 4, 2003 in Abingdon. He is survived by his wife, Carolee; their children, Dawn (and Brian) Fossa of Albuquerque, NM, Cari Shinn of Goodfield, IL, Brandi Schleich of Peoria, IL, Brad (and Trish) Stegall of Peoria, IL and Tyson (and Neili) Stegall of Peoria, IL; one brother, Donald (and Janice) Sundquist of Galesburg, IL; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents and a cousin who was raised in their home, Gary Sundell. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, having obtained an E-5 rank.He had worked at Butler Manufacturing in Galesburg from 1966-2005. He currently worked as a machinist at Caterpillar.He was baptized at Northwoods Community Church in Peoria. His hobbies included flying airplanes, golfing, spending time with his family and his dog, Chloe. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel, 206 N. Washington St., Abingdon, IL. Rev. Dave Bucknam will officiate. Military rites will be accorded following the service. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the chapel. Cremation will follow the funeral service.
