Kimberly S. Shepherd, 57, of Galesburg, died at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, November 11, 2021, at home following a short illness.
She was born June 18, 1964, in Galesburg, the daughter of John A. “Jack” and Carolyn K. (Breese) Shepherd.
Kim is survived by her companion with whom she shared her home, Troy Sibley; two aunts, Dixie Davis of Canton and Karen Snell in Colorado; and several cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and aunts and uncles.
Kim was raised and educated in Galesburg, where she attended Galesburg High School and recently completed a phlebotomy program at Carl Sandburg College. Over the years, Kim has worked at National Seal, Hardee’s, and most recently Dick Blick. She also bartended.
Kim will be remembered for her love of German Shepherd dogs, gardening, shopping, and crocheting. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Kim was devoted to her parents and took care of them both while they were living.
Private family graveside service will be Tuesday, November 16, 2021, in Rio Baptist Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Knox County Humane Society or the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
