King Eugene Jesus DeLaCruz

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son, King Eugene Jesus DeLaCruz, who was taken from us too soon on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the tender age of five months. He brought immeasurable joy and light into our lives with his kind heart, radiant smile, and boundless curiosity.

King was born March 13, 2024, in Galesburg, the son of Isiah DeLaCruz and Allasyn Masten.

He is survived by his parents, Isiah and Allasyn, grandparents, Jesus (and Maria) DeLaCruz of Abingdon, Donald Graham and Jeanna Rechkemmer of Bushnell, great- grandparents, Martha (and Bart) Friend of London Mills, Jesus DeLaCruz of Galesburg, Mark (and Rita) Sandman of Galesburg, Robert Bridgewater of Bushnell; aunts, Aaliyah DeLaCruz of London Mills, Leeann Gilliams of Bushnell, Cassie Graham (and fiancé, Stephan Valladares) of Peoria, Aeiral Graham of Augusta, Tempy Barnes of Colchester, Leah Malek of Iowa, Kylee Barns of Colchester; uncles, Trent (and Jillian Miller) Sandman, Stephan Valladares and Brantlee Barns of Colchester, Marcus (and Amber) Sandman of Abingdon; cousins, Kalea Sandman of Galesburg, Kylie Sandman, Tessa Sandman, Emberlynn Sandman, Elijah Sandman and Bodhi Sandman all of Abingdon; Chloe Valladares, Brodie Van Horn, Mollie Kemp and Meadow Valladares all of Peoria. He was preceded in death by his great-great grandparents.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Rodney Fegan officiating. King will be buried in Babbitt Cemetery near St Augustine. Memorials may be given to his family.
