Laura Loava Brillhart Huffaker

85 of Mount Pleasant, IA formerly of Galesburg died at 6:45 am Thursday, January 11, 2007 at her home in Mount Pleasant. She was born on December 4, 1921 in Hermon, IL to Chester and Ethel Horner Brillhart. She married Kenneth Huffaker in April of 1941 in Rock Island, IL. He preceded her in death. Surviving is one son, James M. (and Donna) Huffaker of Mount Pleasant, IA; a brother, Bernard (and Betty) Brillhart of Champaign, IL; two sisters, Lola Fusco of Drexel Hill, PA and Lillian Brillhart of Galesburg, IL; 9 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 step great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son Kenneth R. Huffaker, three brothers and three sisters. She graduated from Abingdon High School. She worked at the former Osco Drug Store on East Main St. in Galesburg for several years and later worked at the former Mental Health Hospital in Galesburg, retiring in 1981. Graveside service will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at East Linwood Cemetery in Galesburg. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa, Mount Pleasant Office, 204 S. Jefferson St., Suite 103, Mount Pleasant, IA 52641.
