Linda K. Welty Morris

53, of 207 N. Austin Ave., Abingdon, died at 12:01 am Monday, September 21, 2009 at the Care Center of Abingdon. Linda was born on February 29, 1956 in Galesburg, a daughter of Charles and Erma Jean (Courson) Welty, Sr. She married Billy R. Morris on January 15, 1979 in Abingdon. He survives. She is also survived by her Aunt, Ruby Swigert, her sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Stephen Welty and Charles Welty, Jr. Linda lived in the Abingdon area all her life. She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1975. She was a homemaker and had also worked at the Hardee's restaurant in Abingdon. She was a member of the Berwick Baptist Church and served on the Mission Board and was a Sunday School Teacher. Funeral service will be at11:00 am Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Rev. Tom Smith and Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Thursday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the Berwick Baptist Church.
