Lois Maurine Dunn Bliss

98 of Abingdon, died at 5:45 am Sunday, October 8, 2006 at the Care Center of Abingdon. She was born on November 27, 1907 in Bellingham, Washington to Robert L. and Bess Myers Dunn. She married Charles C. Bliss on December 31, 1934 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death in 1974. She was also preceded in death by an infant son in 1937 and two brothers, Richard Dunn and Robert Dunn. Surviving are one son, C. David (and Brenda) Bliss of RR Maquon; 3 grandchildren, Laurie (and Brian) Dufala of Lakewood, CO, Brian (and Julie) Bliss of Tolono, IL and Barry (and Jeanette) Bliss of Clinton, IL; 5great grandchildren, Brandon Dufala, Jaque and Jillian Bliss, Carson and Caitlyn Bliss; a sister-ion-law, Lucile Dunn of Abingdon. She moved to Lawrence, KS when she was a baby and spent her early years there. Her family then moved to rural Abingdon when she was thirteen years old. She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1925. She spent her entire married life on a farm near Hermon. She later moved to Abingdon in 1977. She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church. She was also a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was a terrific cook, a charter member of the Knox County Home Bureau and belong to several Bridge Clubs in the area. Private family services will be held. Rev. Raymond McLaren will officiate. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Abingdon Christian Church or the Care Center of Abingdon.
