Lorene Lee Hicks

Lorene Lee Hicks, 81, of Branson, Missouri, passed away peacefully February 6, 2023, with family by her side. She entered this life August 16, 1941, the daughter of Melvin and Mary Jane (Norman) Hoots in Galesburg, Illinois.

She is survived by her two daughters, Jackie (and Brett) Whipple of Galesburg, Illinois, and Judy (and Jim Lamb) Keith of Branson, MO; Three grandchildren, Devin (and Eric) Daggett, Amy (and Dustin) Hodges and John (and Jamilah) Keith all of Illinois; Three great-grandchildren; a brother, Dan (and Marie) Hoots of New Plymouth, Idaho and a sister in law, Sheila (and Richard) Anderson of Hemet, California. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty nine years, Terry Dale Hicks, and her parents.

Lorene spent more than twenty years portraying the loved character Buckshot Granny at Silver Dollar City. With an eye for beauty, Lorene loved oil painting and doing crafts. The moments created over Lorene’s lifespan will be cherished by all who knew her.
