Louise Quick Obituary

89, of 700 N. Cherry St., died at 7:32 am Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on May 17, 1918 in Galesburg to Everett and Vonna Marks Carlberg. She married G. Wilbur Quick on January 14, 1942 on the Carlberg family farm in Cedar Township, Knox County near Lake Bracken. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1984. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son, Larry Quick and a brother, Robert Carlberg. Louise is survived by two sons, Dennis (and Gwen) Quick of Galesburg and Kevin (and Lori) Quick of Abingdon; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Quick of Conway, Mass; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren; a sister, Jean (and Leonard) Hedbloom of Knoxville; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Carlberg and Lois Murdock. She had lived in the Abingdon area all her life. She graduated from Galesburg High School. She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church and some of the ladies groups of the church. She was a member of Chapter BB of PEO. She was a past member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of the "Ladies of Rotary". She belonged to several area card clubs and especially enjoyed having dinner with her grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Friday, October 12, 2007 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Rev. Jerald Hill will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the Abingdon Christian Church.
