, 87 of 601 N. Jefferson St. died at 4:25 am Sunday, October 17, 2004 at her home. She was born on May 11, 1917 in Prairie City to William and Blanche Hobbs Franklin. She married Delwyn R. Day. He preceded her in death on February 19, 1962. She later married George H. Holeman on July 20, 1970 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on June 23, 1999. Surviving are two sons, Dick (and Janet) Day and Bill (and Sheila) Day of Abingdon; seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one great granddaughter, five brothers and two sisters. She graduated from Prairie City High School. She farmed with her first husband in the Hermon and St. Augustine areas until 1957 when they moved to Abingdon. She worked as a waitress at the Junction Restaurant and Club 41 Restaurant for 25 years retiring in 1973. She was of the Methodist faith. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Friends may call from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Tuesday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon followed by a graveside service at the Abingdon Cemetery. Rev. Raymond McLaren will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Knox County Humane Society or the Abingdon Historical Society.
