Lucille M. Singleton

88 of Galesburg died at 5:30 am Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. She was born on April 24, 1916 in Abingdon to Everett Charles and Ida Weber Strickland. She married Ray E. Singleton on May 12, 1934 in Abingdon. He preceded her in death on April 25, 1991. Surviving are one daughter, Beverly K. (and Tom) Riedel of Macomb; one son, Bill R. (and Lucille) Singleton of Ft. Worth, TX; one sister, Wanda Nicholas of Galesburg; four grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister and three brothers. She was a homemaker and previously worked at Formfit in Monmouth and then at the Illinois State Mental Hospital in Dixon, IL retiring in 1978. Graveside service will be at 11 am Saturday at the Abingdon Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Calling hours will be from Noon until 5:00 pm Friday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
