Lyle E. Morris

68, of 183 Knox Road 730N, died at 2:45 am Friday, November 21, 2003, at his home. He was born on June 13, 1935 in Chestnut Township, Knox County, IL to Joseph and Pauline Warren Morris. He married Bonnie Gould on March 19, 1955 in Greeley, CO. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Wayne (and Ranell) Morris of Fair Grove, MO and Grant (and Tori) Morris of Galesburg; one daughter Patty (and David) Gutierrez of Berthoud, CO; one brother, Bill (and Linda) Morris of Abingdon; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. He graduated from Abingdon High School in 1954. He was a retired US Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381 in Abingdon. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He returned to the Abingdon area in 1976 after his retirement from the Air Force. He was a member of the Berwick Baptist Church where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher. Funeral service will be at 1:30 pm Monday at the Berwick Baptist Church. Rev. Melody Andrews will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery with Military Rites by American Legion Post #381. Friends may call from 3:00 é
