M. Ellenore Crowell

90, of 104 N. Carlysle Ave. in Abingdon died at 4:35 am Friday, January 9, 2004 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. She was born on October 3, 1913 in Gillespie, IL to Tom and Martha Seekamp Patterson. She married Thomas Rolla Crowell. He preceded her in death in 1976. Surviving are one son, William P. (and Rita) Crowell of Waverly Hall, GA; one daughter, Ellen M. (and Joe) Rodeffer of Abingdon; two step-sons, Dr. Thomas R. Crowell of Kingwood, TX and Dr. Richard L. Crowell of Ambler, PA; one sister, Emily Fulenwider of Jackson, MO; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren and 10 step great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Edgar Patterson. She was raised in Gillespie and graduated from Gillespie High School. She later attended Blackburn College and graduated from Wheaton College. She was a homemaker and school teacher and taught at Henderson Grove Elementary School for 3 years and in California Schools for 10 years retiring in 1975. She had lived in Minneapolis, Cottonwood, Foley and Osakis, all in Minnesota, from 1960 é
