M. Jodell Bailey Simmons

, 70 of Macomb, died at 12:35 pm Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb. She was born on February 11, 1939 in Butler, Missouri to Clyde and Mildred (Seckman) Bailey. She married Roger K. Teel. She later married Don Simmons. She is survived by her two daughters, Dorvea (and Chad) Russell of Macomb, IL and Brandi (and Mark) Rutledge of Industry, IL; her mother, Mildred Bailey of rural Monmouth, IL; one brother, Fred (and Nancy) Bailey of rural Alexis, IL; and 5 grandchildren. Jodell was preceded in death by her father and one grandson. She graduated from Avon High School in 1957. She was a member of the First Christian Church in St. Augustine. She worked as a pit clerk on a casino boat. She also had taught dancing for the Arthur Murray Studio in Chicago. Her hobbies included gardening and reading. She also had a love for animals. Funeral service will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery.
