Margaret Betty Stotler Gibson Tessier Opie

92 of Abingdon died at 7:40 pm Saturday, September 4, 2004 aqt the Care Center of Abingdon. She was born on May 7, 1912 in Newton, Iowa to Milton E. and Margaret Belle Reynolds Stotler. She married W.R. Gibson in 1930. She later married Ezra J. Tessier in 1939. He preceded her in death in February of 1961. She then married Theodore Opie in 1968 and he preceded her in death in 1986. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Dale Tessier and one granddaughter, one sister and five brothers. Surviving are three daughters, Melva Hegwood of Kewanee, Maryetta (and Robert C.) Anderson of Abingdon, and Judy Anderson of Maquon; one son, Loren (and Pauline) Tessier of RR London Mills; two stepsons, Max (and Belva) Tessier of Washington, IL and Dean (and Mona) Tessier of Galesburg; one stepdaughter, Audrey Rudloff of Sparta;one sister Welma Stotler of Des Moines, IA; four brothers, Paul & Gilbert Stotler both of Iowa, Jerry Stotler in Oregon, Larry Stotler of Minnesota several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was a homemaker and had worked as a nurse aide at the former London Mills Nursing Home. She was a member of the Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381 Auxiliary and of Mothers of WW II. Graveside service will be at 11:30 am Wednesday at the Berwick Cemetery. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Friends may call from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Wednesday at the Hinchliff-Pearson- West Chapel in Abingdon. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post #381 Auxiliary.
