Marie Watkins

, 88, 300 N. Jefferson St., Apt. 201, formerly of RR London Mills, died at 12:45 pm Friday, December 16, 2005 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital. She was born on November 9, 1917 in Abingdon to Charles Ralph and Lillian Estella George Edmonson. She married Lloyd H. "Toy" Watkins in Abingdon. He preceded her in death on February 2, 1995. Surviving are one daughter, Patricia Smith of Moline, IL; 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Theda Landon of Galesburg. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her son-n-law, Bernard Smith, 1 granddaughter, Jane Clapp and 3 brothers and 4 sisters. She had lived in Abingdon since 1996 and prior to that near London Mills. Services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am Tuesday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the Care Center of Abingdon or the Jane Clapp Memorial Fund.
