Marietta N. Boehmer

92, a resident of the Marigold Health Care Center, Galesburg, formerly of the Care Center of Abingdon and Oswego, IL died at 11:05 am Sunday, October 30, 2005 at the Marigold Health Care Center. She was born November 28, 1912 in Duluth, MN to Steve and Catherine Guzzo Cuda, Sr. She married Phillip B. Boehmer. He preceded her in death in 1969. She was also preceded in death by a son, Gordon Boehmer, her son-in-law, William S. "Bill" Boyer, three brothers, Tom Cuda, Roy Cuda and Abel Cuda, one sister, Angeline McQuiggin. Surviving are one daughter, Catherine Boyer of Abingdon, IL; one granddaughter, Stephanie (Vincent McFadden) Cejka of Chicago; two great grandchildren, Shelby and Michelle; two brothers, Steve (Katherine) Cuda, Jr. of Astoria, OR and Albert Cuda of California; a sister, Mafalda (David) Haldemann of Gearhart, OR. She was a homemaker and moved to Abingdon in 1996 where she was a resident of the Care Center of Abingdon and later was a resident of the Knox County Nursing Home before residing at the Marigold. She had resided in Oswego, IL and in her earlier life lived in Portland, OR. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Oswego, IL. She was a former Brownie Troop leader, 4-H leader, Altar and Rosary Society Member and a member of the Kendall County Homemakers. Graveside service will be 10:00 am Wednesday at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Aurora, IL. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
