Mrs. Marilyn Jeanene A’Hearn, 93, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 7:55 am, Thursday September 11, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
Marilyn was born on November 20, 1931, in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Ernest and Anna (Matson) Isaacson. Marilyn graduated from Monmouth High School in 1948 and that same year married the love of her life, D. Russell A’Hearn on June 4th in Carthage, Illinois. They began to grow their family, adding two sons and a daughter, Michael, Dan and Linda.
Marilyn was blessed to stay at home and care for her children and husband. She was a talented seamstress, sharing her talent with Sears and other departments stores with alterations. Marilyn was an avid reader and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
After 63 years of marriage, her husband, Russell preceded her in death on March 19, 2010. She is survived by her two sons, Michael (Kim) A’Hearn of Galesburg, Dan (Julie) A’Hearn of Galesburg, her daughter, Linda (David) Huddle of Knoxville, Illinois. She is also survived by her fifteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, and twenty-four great-great grandchildren. She has been preceded in death by parents, her brother, Dean Isaacson, and her two sisters, Carol Tenerelli and Delores Hoffer.
Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 pm Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. A Private Family Graveside service will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Jordan Knight officiating. Memorial contributions in Marilyn’s memory may be made to Hospice Compassus.
