Marilyn (Lindstrom) Peake

Mrs. Marilyn Peake of Galesburg, passed away on March 2, 2023 at The Allure of Lake Story, at 3:18 PM.

Marilyn was born on October 3, 1930 in Galesburg the daughter of Fred and Jetta Lucy (Jenkins) Lindstrom. She married the love of her life Thomas A. Peake on February 14, 1953 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on May 7, 2015.

Marilyn is survived by her son Richard Peake of Iowa, two beloved nieces, Kathy McCoy and Leslie King. As well as two nephews, Robert and Kevin McCoy. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Charles Lindstrom.

She graduated with the class of 1948 from Galesburg High School. She later attended Western Illinois State and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education in 1953. She was always a home maker but worked for 12 years in Alexis, Illinois as a librarian for school district #400 before her retirement in 1968. Marilyn was a kind hearted woman who was very caring and sweet. Marilyn loved her family and enjoyed reading in her free time.

Cremation will be accorded and a grave side service will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, May 13, at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Alexis, Illinois, or to the Knox County Humane Society.
