Marjorie M. "Marge" Hovell

95, of Abingdon, Illinois died at 1:55 pm Monday, March 17, 2008 at the Care Center of Abingdon. Marge was born in Warren County on May 9, 1912, to Henry and Ida Belle Dilts. She married Thomas Hovell in Jacksonville, IL on August 22, 1931. "Tommy" died March 19, 1968. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Ronald)Woolsey; 3 grand daughters - Dralene (Tom) Hughes of Mont Verde, Florida; Kelly (Ken)Heinritz of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, and Wynne Schendel of Shoreview, Minnesota; 3 great grand children -- Hannah Heinritz, Evan Schendel and Tana Schendel, one sister, Irene Hutchins of Bushnell,IL, and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 1 sister. Marge moved to the Abingdon area in 1929. She worked at the Blue Bell for 25 years and then as receptionist for Dr. J. A. Bowman for 24 years. She retired in 1975. She resided at the Blue Bell Towers for many years until her health caused a move to the Care Center of Abingdon. She was very active in the Abingdon Christian Church, Circles at the church, Grandmothers Club, Quilt Circle and Club, and New Horizons. She will be remembers for the quilts she lovingly made and distributed to many nursing homes, family, and friends. She loved to be with people talking, playing games, or helping others. Cremation will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at the Abingdon Christian Church, 409 South Main, Abingdon on Monday, March 24, 2008 at 10:30 am. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be given to the Abingdon Christian Church. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
