Martha E. Welsh

70, 817 Illinois Rt. 41, died at 10:55 pm Saturday, August 9, 2003 at her home. She was born October 14, 1932 in Galesburg to Howard Edward and V. Marie Flake Wise. She married Arthur L. Welsh on September 28, 1957 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on October 26, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one son, Howard E. Welsh. Surviving are one son, Daniel Welsh of RR Galesburg; six grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1950. She worked as a seamstress at the former Blue Bell Mfg. in Abingdon and later at Gross Mfg. in Galesburg. She was of the Protestant Faith. Graveside service will be at 1:30 pm Tuesday at the Abingdon Cemetery with Eleanor Landon officiating. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Community Hospices of America.
