Mary Alice Anderson

82 of Galesburg, formerly of Abingdon died at 8:00 pm Sunday, February 10, 2008 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. She was born on April 22, 1925 near Abingdon to Frank Otis and Nannie Jane Baker Rush. She married Robert K. Anderson. He preceded her in death. She later enjoyed the companionship of Herman Baughman and he also preceded her in death as did her brother, Roger Rush, who resided in California. Mary is survived by two sons, Robert "Mike" (and his wife Bonnie) Anderson of Abingdon and Chuck K. Anderson of Davenport, IA; two grandchildren, Michael O. Anderson of Abingdon and Haili (and her husband Allen) Hensley of Cedar Falls, IA; one great grandson, Logan A. Cole; a brother, Robert M. Rush of Abingdon and a niece, Susan Rush of Concord, CA. She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1943. She worked as a dietary supervisor at St. Mary's Hospital in Galesburg. She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church, a charter member of the Abingdon Pottery Collectors Club, a member of Abingdon High School Half Century Alumni, member of the Rebecca M. Parks Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of the Abingdon Garden Club. Cremation will be accorded. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:30 pm Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel followed by a Celebration of Life service at 6:30 pm led by Rev. Jerald Hill and Eleanor Landon. Memorials may be made to OSF St. Mary Medical Center Foundation or Prairieland Animal Welfare Center.
