83, a resident of the Care Center of Abingdon and formerly of Galesburg died at 8:10 am Saturday, June 16, 2007 at the Care Center. She was born on October 23, 1923 in Galesburg, a daughter of Theodore 'Ted" Davison and Lela I. Asher Sieger. She married Melvin D. Dawson. She later married Frank P. Glavas. Surviving are her children, George F. Glavas of Lake Bracken, Dean (and Bridgette Smith) Davison of Abingdon, Ann (and Thomas) Walters of Decatur, Jeri E. Stevenson of Monmouth and Dena (and Eric) Miller of Iowa City, IA. Mayme was also blessed with 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mayme attended school in Galesburg. She was a retired homemaker. She loved to read mystery novels, play cards, knit, sew and watch old movies. She loved Animals, gardening, music and enjoyed playing the piano. Mayme also enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family. She was of the protestant faith and had formerly attended Calvary Assembly of God in Galesburg. Graveside service will be at 11:30 am Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg. There will be no visitation. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements for the family.
