70, of 1435 Rona Dr., Galesburg, IL died at 3:05 PM Friday, November 14, 2003 at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, where he was a patient the past five years. He was born on January 23, 1933 in Berwick, IL to Rolland and Ethel Rhinehart Lane. He was raised by his grandparents, Melvin & Ollie Rhinehart. He married Donna Johnson on May 4, 1955 in Galesburg. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, Michael McGill, Dennis Lane and Kevin Lane all of Galesburg, IL; a daughter, Debbie Pierce of Galesburg, IL; a half-sister, Judith Long of Bloomington, IL; two half-brothers, Fred Anderson of Avon, IL and Terry Anderson of Wilmington, IL, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles. He had worked for the City of Abingdon and later was a truck driver for VSM Trucking in Abingdon, R & R Trucking in Galesburg and at Grain Store Elevator in Henderson, IL. He had lived in the Abingdon & Galesburg areas most of his life. He was a charter member of the former Abingdon Boat Club and the First Prestigious Hot Rod Club in Abingdon and a member of the former Abingdon Motorcycle Club. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel in Abingdon with Rev. Milton Marquith officiating. Friends may call from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, November 17, 2003 at the Chapel. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery.
