60 of Abingdon died at 6:45 pm Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, IL. He was born on July 23, 1946 in Philippi, West Virginia to Milton Loar and Nellie Louise Vasto Ridenour, Sr. He married Loretta Jean Simmons in 1964. He later married Terry Brown on April 18, 1975 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, James E. Ridenour and Milton Lee Ridenour, both of Philippi, WV and Joseph Ridenour in Louisiana; five daughters, Patty Jean (and Bob) Cleavenger of Philippi, WV, Annetta Davis of Galesburg, IL, Virginia (and fiancé Brian Weltig) Lewis of Waterloo, IL, Mary Ann (and Craig) Clanin of Jacksonville, FL and Rose (and Shane) Amick of Galesburg, IL; 5 grandchildren. He served in the Air Force from 1963 until 1975. He had lived in Abingdon, IL the past 27 years and prior to that in Avon, IL and Galesburg, IL. He worked at the former Briggs Manufacturing Company in Abingdon and had previously worked at Kyle Pallet in Negley, Ohio and at Waterford Park Racetrack in Newell, WV. He had attended the First Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He loved spending time with his family. Visitation will be from Noon until 2:00 pm Saturday, August 5, 2006 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Cremation will follow the visitation. Memorials may be made to the family.
