Miss Lydia Elizabeth Hopping

75 of 506 S. Main St. died at 8:35 am Friday, April 1, 2005 at home. She was born March 21, 1930 in Vermont, IL to Ross and Lena Forshee Hopping. Surviving are one brother, Eugene (and Inelda) Hopping of Galesburg; her step-mother, Lavina Hopping of Abingdon, with whom she made her home; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. She had lived in Abingdon most of her life where she attended school. She worked in housekeeping at the Abingdon Nursing Home for 17 years. She attended First Assembly of God Church in Abingdon. Graveside service will be at 1:00 pm Monday at the Abingdon Cemetery. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Monday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
